Royal Mail Careers - Some Useful Information
There are many opportunities available to those who seek a career with the United Kingdoms Royal Mail services. The delivering of letters and packages all over the country requires a lot of man power and recruiting new talent to fill these jobs is on going.
From one end of the Kingdom to the other, The Royal Mail provides this important service to the public with speed and accuracy. This task can only be handled by a well trained work force. For this reason the Royal Mail Service is willing to give hands on training to those who qualify.
Some of the perks that come with being employed with the Royal Mail services are

There are a number of positions to be filled some of the most common are
- Postman or Postwoman – This position requires some physical abilities and is not for everyone. Plus there maybe early long days with strong weather to contend with.
- Postal Driver - Delivering the mail from end to end via automobile.
- Indoor Sorter – This job is in a round the clock working environment 24/7. Plenty of shift work and some seasonal.
- Data Entry Clerk – These workers are responsible for taking up where the machines left off or could not complete. They basically sort the mail and enter the mailing information by hand into a computer.
A good place to start looking for work with the Royal Mail is at there homepage online. Once you are there you can do a little research within the website and look for openings in the positions of your interest.
Don't forget to look up there sister organizations as well, Parcel Force and Royal Mail Group. They will have similar jobs available too.

Why does the postie now have to carry parcels and the like? Ordered alot of 2nd hand clothes for my?
daughter off ebay this last week and was sorry that the royal mail made my postie humpf these items around on his round instead of getting a van to just deliver in bulk the items..
What is the royal mail policy on what a postie must deliver on foot?
Royal mail policy is. You deliver to your route the maximum allowed weight you are allowed to carry. If it was special delivery, signed for item, postman has to call. Depends on the eBay seller how they ship the item. Parcel post is a separate business. Although they are same company.
